Schaffhausen is a waterfall located in northern Switzerland in the region of Schaffhaussen. The waterfall is known as "Rheinfall" and is the widest waterfall in Europe, which makes that the Rhine river is not navigable from this waterfall. Nearby is the medieval town of Schaffhausen which gives its name to the area.

The Rheinfall (Rhine Falls) are one of the largest waterfalls in Europe, with a height of 23 meters and 150 meters long. The fall of water has created a pit 13 meters deep. With a flow of 373 cubic meters of water per second, this huge water jump can be traced by eels.
